Samsung Galaxy Ring Unveiling Is Better Than Gucci’s 1.25 Million
Samsung Electronics’ new wearable device ‘Samsung Galaxy Ring’ has finally been unveiled. The ‘Galaxy Ring’ that I saw in front of my eyes had a sophisticated design that reminded me of a luxurious luxury ring rather than an electronic device.
Samsung Electronics displayed the design of the ‘Samsung Galaxy Ring’ for the first time at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), which opened in Barcelona, Spain on the 26th (local time).
The Samsung Galaxy Ring is a wearable in the shape of a ring. It early attracted attention as a device that would go beyond smartwatches and open a new category of wearables. The ‘Samsung Galaxy Ring’, scheduled to be released within the year, can be comfortably worn even while sleeping, and the inner surface of the ring wraps around the finger to measure detailed health data.

At this MWC, the ‘Galaxy Ring’ was displayed in three colors: black, gold, and silver, and a total of nine sizes. After the teaser video was surprisingly released at the Galaxy Unpack held in January, we were able to see the actual product at this MWC.
The appearance is no different from an ordinary ring and does not feel like an electronic device at all. Even compared to the couple rings and wedding rings you might see from luxury brands, it is not inferior in appearance. You can tell that it is an electronic device by looking at the sensor mounted inside the ring.
Competition in the smart ring market is expected to intensify with the Samsung Galaxy Ring’ to be released within the year. Previously, in 2022, Gucci collaborated with OURA to introduce a smart ring. The appearance is no different from a fashion ring, with the Gucci logo engraved on an 18K gold border, but it is equipped with 7 sensors inside the ring that measure biometric data 24 hours a day.
It supports functions such as tracking sleep information such as deep sleep, short sleep, and bedtime, as well as measuring temperature, heart rate, and stress. It can be used for up to 7 days on a single charge, weighs 4g, and is 0.3 inches thick. Another feature is that it is waterproof up to 100 meters deep. The price at launch was $950 (about 1.25 million won).
