Apple begins pre-orders for Vision Pro in the US
Apple has begun pre-registration in the United States ahead of the official launch of Apple Begins Pre-Orders For Vision Pro mixed reality (MR) headset ‘Vision Pro’.
According to major foreign media such as MacRumors, Apple also revealed product specifications when pre-ordering the Vision Pro began on the 19th (local time).
Product specifications for Vision Pro
On this day, Apple announced that the M2 chip installed in the Vision Pro consists of an 8-core central processing unit (CPU) and a 10-core graphics processing unit (GPU) and can be used with 16GB of integrated memory. Vision Pro is available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options.
As previously announced, Vision Pro is equipped with 12 cameras, 5 sensors, and 6 microphones to make content feel as if it appears right in front of the user’s eyes, and the memory bandwidth of the newly installed R1 chip is 256GB/s, which is faster than the human eye. Images from each display are connected at a rate 8 times faster than blinking.
Vision Pro‘s dual micro-OLED display offers more than 23 million pixels with a 92% DCI-P3 color gamut. The display refresh range includes 90Hz, 96Hz, and 100Hz, and there are 24fps and 30fps video playback options.
The weight is 600~650g depending on the light seal and headband configuration, and the external battery pack weighs 353g.
It provides up to 2 hours of battery life and up to 2.5 hours for video playback. In addition, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, HDR10, and spatial audio with dynamic head tracking are supported.
The product is equipped with two primary cameras, six orientation tracking cameras, four eye tracking cameras, a true depth camera, a LiDAR scanner, four inertial measurement units, a blink sensor, and an ambient light sensor.
