5 Aircraft Accidents In Less Than A Month: Boeing CEO Speaks Before Congress. Five Boeing aircraft-related accidents occurred in one month, including holes in the fuselage during operation and wheels falling off during takeoff. As the U.S. Congress pushed for a hearing, Boeing’s CEO visited Congress to provide an explanation. I am correspondent Park Il-joong in New York.

Alaska Airlines had to have a scary flight due to a hole in the fuselage at 5,000 meters in the air. The CEO of the airline appeared on the air and directly criticized Boeing, saying that the same problem was found in many places. This is not the only accident related to Boeing’s aircraft. Five accidents occurred in less than 20 days, including a cargo plane that caught fire in its engine right after takeoff and had to turn back urgently, and a wheel on a plane that was about to take off came off. As problems arise regardless of the model, the U.S. Congress is pushing for hearings. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration directly inspects Boeing’s production plant. Boeing halted all manufacturing and deliveries on the 25th local time.

The CEO urgently visited the council. [Dave Calhoun/Boeing CEO: “We were constructive, shared everything we could, and understood the seriousness of the situation.”] The Federal Aviation Administration allowed the Boeing 737 Max 9, a model with a hole in the fuselage, to resume operation, but for the time being. Boeing’s production suspension also occurred in 2018 and 2019 following the crash of the 737 Max model.
