86% of Americans Say Biden is Too Old To Be Re-Elected
86% of Americans say Biden is too old to be re-elected. Aftereffects of the special prosecutor’s report. A public opinion poll showed on the 11th (local time) that nearly 9 out of 10 Americans think that U.S. President Joe Biden is too old to run for re-election.
According to a survey of 528 American adults conducted by ABC and public opinion research company Ipsos on the 9th and 10th, 86% of respondents said that President Biden, who is 81 years old and the oldest person in active service, is too old to run for re-election.
62% of respondents said that former President Donald Trump (77), the leading Republican candidate, is too old to be the head of state. In particular, 59% of respondents responded that both President Biden and former President Trump were old.
By political party, 73% of Democratic supporters evaluated President Biden as too old, while only 35% of Republican supporters pointed out that former President Trump was too old to have problems performing his duties, showing a clear contrast.
However, the broadcast pointed out that concerns about the advanced age of both candidates have increased. During an ABC and Washington Post survey last September, 74% of respondents said that President Biden was too old to serve the next term, while 49% of respondents said the same about former President Trump.
The special prosecutor who previously investigated the leak of confidential documents during President Biden’s vice presidency decided not to indict him on the 8th and caused a huge political stir by describing him as ‘an old man with a bad memory but no malicious intent’ in the investigation report.
The emergency light has been turned on to the extent that the White House and the Democratic Party, including Vice President Kamala Harris, are launching an onslaught, citing the special prosecutor’s “political motivations.”
President Biden volunteered for an emergency conference right after and said, “My memory is fine” and “I am the best person to serve as president,” but the controversy is still showing no signs of subsiding. Meanwhile, 38% of respondents in this survey pointed out that President Biden should have been indicted in connection with the document leak.
Regarding the prosecution of former President Trump on charges of overturning the presidential election, 66% of the total said that he could not be granted immunity for his actions while in office. Additionally, 44% of respondents evaluated that former President Trump would respond well to the immigration issue, while only 26% of respondents supported President Biden.
Many respondents said that former President Trump would respond better to major agenda items such as crime (Biden 28%, Trump 41%), economy (Biden 31%, Trump 43%), and inflation (Biden 31%, Trump 41%). President Biden recorded an approval rating of 37% on his abortion issue, ahead of former President Trump (28%).
