Apple's Vision Pro Can Be Profitable If Resold Outside The US - Up To 3 Times The Regular Price

Apple’s Vision Pro can be profitable if resold outside the US. Apple’s mixed reality (MR) headset ‘Vision Pro’, sold in the United States, was found to be being resold at two to three times the price outside the United States.

According to the U.S. economic media Business Insider on the 10th (local time), an advertisement was posted on the advertising platform Gumtree selling the Vision Pro for $9,400 (12.51 million won). An advertisement was posted on Facebook Marketplace for sale for 5,000 pounds (8.41 million won). This is approximately two to three times the official price of Vision Pro, which is $3,500.

Apple began selling the Vision Pro in the United States on the 2nd. Release dates for other regions other than the US, such as Europe and Asia, have not yet been set. As a result, Vision Pro is not available outside the United States, so it appears that some buyers are reselling it in other regions at a premium.

According to Bloomberg News, the Vision Pro was recently sold on Merukari, a famous Japanese marketplace, for 800,000 yen, or about $5,400. It is being resold for 36,000 yuan ($5,000) on Taobao, an open market in China, and for 8,500 Singapore dollars ($6,300) in Singapore.

Insider predicted that Apple may have difficulty entering the Chinese market as it is considering expanding the Vision Pro market. This is because Huawei, China’s largest telecommunications equipment company, has already registered the trademark for Vision Pro in 2019 and is selling smart glasses and TVs. Insider predicted that Apple could negotiate with Huawei to sell the Vision Pro in China or change the name of the device in China.

It is reported that more than 200,000 units of the Vision Pro have been sold through pre-sale alone, and sales figures after the official launch have not yet been confirmed.
