Xiaomi Electric Car Sensation Wait Up To 7 Months For Vehicle Delivery

As interest in the SU7 series, the first electric vehicle produced by Chinese home appliance company Xiaomi, has exploded, it has been found that for some models, it is necessary to wait up to 7 months for vehicle delivery.

Reuters reported on the 1st that after checking the Xiaomi car app, if you order the highest-end model ‘SU7 Max’ now, it may take 27 to 30 weeks to receive the vehicle. In addition, it was announced that the delivery period for the standard SU7 and the mid-level model ‘SU7 Pro’ will take 18 to 21 weeks.

The price of the standard SU7 is 215,900 yuan (about 40.12 million won), and the SU7 Pro and Max are 245,900 yuan (about 45.7 million won) and 299,900 yuan (about 55.73 million won), respectively.

With relatively aggressive pricing, SU7 is causing an initial sensation. According to Xiaomi, the SU7 series, which went on sale on the 28th, recorded 88,898 pre-orders in just one day.

The standard SU7 can travel up to 700 km on a single charge, has a top speed of 210 km/h, and 0-100 km/h in 5.28 seconds. Xiaomi explains that it can run 350 km with 15 minutes of charging.

SU7 is equipped with various convenience functions and artificial intelligence ( AI ) voice recognition services that are connected to existing Xiaomi products, as well as safety features such as its own smart driving technology and automatic emergency braking (AEB). Due to the sensation of Xiaomi’s electric vehicles newly entering the market, competitors are taking out price reduction cards one after another. Huawei’s electric vehicle brand Aito announced that it would offer a discount of up to 20,000 yuan on the M7 SUV until the end of this month.

Additionally, XPeng also decided to provide a subsidy of up to 20,000 yuan for its flagship SUV G9 . Chery also announced that it would offer tax breaks, trade-in subsidies and cash discounts on some of its best-selling gasoline engine vehicles.
