Samsung Electronics Unveils Galaxy Ring Design At MWC24
Samsung Electronics (005930) will unveil the design of its new wearable product, ‘Galaxy Ring’, at Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC24), which will be held starting on the 26th. The plan is to provide a venue for Galaxy AI experience through all Galaxy products, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Book 4, and Galaxy Tab S9.
On the 25th, Samsung Electronics announced that it had set up a 1,745㎡ (528 pyeong) exhibition hall at the Fira Gran Via exhibition hall in Barcelona, Spain, to experience Galaxy AI. Here, you can experience the AI features of the Galaxy S24 series in various everyday scenarios. A large Galaxy AI sculpture will be displayed at the entrance of the exhibition hall, while a ‘real-time interpretation’ space will also be prepared to provide a completely new communication method with on-device AI.
Samsung Electronics plans to display the Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy S23 FE, which are scheduled to be updated in March, so that users can experience Galaxy AI even in products released last year.
At this exhibition, the Galaxy Ring design, scheduled to be released within the year, will be revealed for the first time. Galaxy Ring is a wearable product that allows you to manage your health with ‘Samsung Health’. Samsung Electronics attracted attention by surprisingly releasing a video of the Galaxy Ring at the Galaxy S24 Unpack event on the 17th of last month.
Samsung Electronics clarified that the Galaxy Ring is designed for comfortable wear during sleep, with its inner surface conforming to the finger to accurately measure detailed health data. The Galaxy Ring is displayed in three colors, including black, gold, and silver, and nine sizes. However, for security reasons, it is displayed in acrylic and cannot be touched or worn.
Samsung Electronics plans to introduce intelligent health functions that will be released in the future along with the Galaxy Ring. ‘My Vitality Score’, which provides users with personalized health guidance based on various data such as sleep and heart rate, and ‘Booster Card’, which encourages users to set health-related goals, will be released in the future.
In addition, the lights linked to the ‘Smart Things Station’ installed in the house turn on at the set time, provide notifications when it is time to take medicine, and while you follow the exercise while watching the video on TV, the ‘Galaxy Watch’ monitors your heart rate and exercise. Various user scenarios for health, such as simultaneous time measurement, will also be displayed.
In a separate exhibition space within Fira Gran Via, AI and software-based next-generation network solutions for business-to-business (B2B) customers will also be unveiled. It will exhibit network automation solutions that use AI to automatically build networks and analyze data to support optimized resource distribution and efficient operation, as well as AI-based automatic energy saving solutions and next-generation software solutions that improve 5G base station performance and efficiency. .
In particular, by combining the latest 5G multiple input/output base station (Massive MIMO Radio) and software solutions, we plan to reduce power consumption per site (station) by about 30% compared to the existing system while increasing data processing capacity to suggest a development direction for a sustainable future.
In addition, Samsung Electronics has a lineup of high-performance, small, and low-power base stations, including a self-developed new high-performance network chipset lineup and the latest base station supporting 5G Advanced standards, and a cloud-based end-to-end network in collaboration with various partners. They announced that they would introduce network solutions, etc.
